A Passion to Create
My passion for drawing crafts and making art in general has been with me all my life, I cannot remember it not being there. To be completely honest, I have nothing truly profound to draw up about my reason for loving it. It’s sometimes that has really been as though it’s one of the few and only constants in my life. Through all the things that I have gone and experienced, the overwhelming urge to put colour on a piece of paper whenever I had the chance. My love of art just seems to have melded into an integral part of my identity. As I’ve gotten older my style has grown and changed as well. In my creative journey I’ve tried every type of art I could realistically get my hands on, from paints like watercolour and acrylics, to charcoal, sculpture, photography and digital art. I want to be able to experience everything that I possibly can, and I want to try and create beauty inspired from my life and experiences, and from the life I long for but cannot live.
I don’t really know how I’d live without this passion. It’s one of my most prominent characteristics, my lifelong hobby that I terribly want to make life about. And once I can really get into my zone it sort of brings me to my own world where it’s mine and mine alone, where the world can go on without me for a while. It’s cathartic in a way, making art just kind of brings me a feeling of happiness, stress and frustration too, but also happiness.
I really love the quote above because while it’s inspiring, it’s also comforting, I always feel like some sort of unfinished work. I’m happy with my art absolutely, but I still feel insecure and though I know no one expects me to be perfect yet, there’s so much competition out there. I know I’m good but I’m still practicing every day and building my skillset onward.

What’s To Come
I’m starting my final studio project that’s going to be a mural covering a 153 square foot wall inside the school. The idea Is going to be a deep forest in the middle of night that’s somewhat whimsical yet lonely with butterflies guiding down a path to a door of an unknown light. It’s going to be the biggest project I’ve done so far. It’s not what I’m used to doing and is going to push on my comfort zone. I feel a combination of dread as well as a bubbling excitement towards it. Exited to show my skill and to inspire and impress others but nervous to not reach my full vision.
And yet I can’t wait to get started.
