Embracing A New Challenge
I want to do what feels daunting, and what seems impossible. I refuse to limit myself to what is easily attainable, because if I can do more, I’ll never know because I didn’t try. I am an endless learner and Studio is the perfect opportunity to explore the knowledge and abilities I have yet to uncover. With this in mind, I made my goals for Studio.
Introducing: Atria Leather Goods
For the past couple of months I have been trying to set a small business in motion. Interestingly, choosing a name seemed to be the most difficult part. I thought of a few names that I liked, but nothing seemed right. None of them spoke to me, so I decided to just keep wrestling with new ideas until I found the one. After what seemed like a lifetime, I finally decided on Atria Leather Goods and I love it. Go find me on Instagram @atria.leathergoods !!
Finally In Motion
What am I going to accomplish in Studio? Well, one of my biggest goals was to be a vendor at a craft market, and I get to check this off the list on April 30th! Helping my parents at craft markets when I was younger was such a fun experience for me, and I want to relive those moments with my own business, and I’m so excited to be able to do this. I’m delighted to say that I will be a vendor at the Luckygirl Pop Up Spring Market! Markets are an awesome way to make connections with other makers as well as people looking to buy. The prep can be stressful and is undeniably busy, but I’ve always been eager for a challenge.
The Heart of Passion
Aside from markets, I’ve been planning what else I would like to accomplish, and what I need to do to get there. What this means is that I have more than one endless to-do list. The next few weeks will involve lots of product and commission design, market prep, and leather creations! On the cardiology side of things, a while ago I did a heart dissection as my first step towards furthering my knowledge of the heart. I also met with a cardiac surgeon to talk about the medical world from a professional perspective. In the coming weeks I’m going to set aside time to dive into the world of cardiology to help tie my passions for cardiology and leathercraft together as one unit.
My work in Studio has been very gratifying so far, but I will continue to pursue more knowledge and create more. I’m excited for what I will do, even though it’s intimidating right now.
