Greetings!

My name is Kaitlyn Cassidy, and I am a Grade 12 student in the MBCI Studio program.

My passion project for studio is sewing, specifically sewing and designing dresses that have meaning to me and stories stitched into them. My goals for Studio is to learn more about my craft, developing ideas, and spending more time in general improving my skills.

My interest for sewing was sparked at a young age when my grandma introduced me to it and when she told me her dreams when she was younger was to sew. Because of her, I grew to love fashion and would draw up sketches of my own. Most were pretty bad, but I was 7 so I can’t judge too harshly!

From there, I took sewing courses and then switched to sewing on my own. Now, I am so excited to spend a whole semester pursuing this passion of mine!

If you would like to hear more about my journey into sewing and the most recent project that I’ve been working on, check out my blog and follow me as I develop Project FRANCIS.
